Say hello to Gary Wong, our Digital Content Strategist at Stingray Advisory Group! Gary is the creative force behind much of our content, whether it's blogs, marketing materials or social media management. He also runs our Facebook community, Small Business Financial Freedom Fundamentals, where he helps entrepreneurs connect and grow. With a passion for learning, sharing ideas and trying new creative approaches, Gary brings energy and fresh perspective to the SAG team every day!
We're excited for you to get to know him a little better!
1. What's your role at Stingray Advisory Group?
I'm a Digital Content Strategist at Stingray Advisory Group. My role is a mix of blog creation and management, working on marketing materials and running our social media. It's a great combination of creativity and business planning. I focus on making sure everything we put out is relevant, helpful and engaging for our clients and for the people who follow us. I also manage our Facebook community, Small Business Financial Freedom Fundamentals and jump into other creative projects. Working at Stingray has been an amazing opportunity to grow my skills and expand my creative side as I continue my journey as an aspiring marketing professional.
2. What would you like to share about your own professional journey?
I started out at Stingray just wanting to get my foot into the business and explore the possibilities of marketing. Leandra gave me the chance to try different things and figure out what I liked (and didn't like) in the field. Now, as I reach my second year here, I've really learned to embrace my creative side while also experimenting with new ideas. I'm always learning, and that's what makes my role so rewarding. Just when I think I'm stuck on something, I end up surprising myself with what I can do. I've learned a lot and it's all part of what makes this role so exciting.
3. What's your best advice for someone who is just starting their professional journey?
If I had to give one piece of advice for anyone figuring out their path, it's to have faith that everything will work out in the end. When things get hard or you feel like you're not where you're supposed to be, trust that things will eventually fall into place. Having a a mix of optimism, patience and a little self-pushing will always help you get to where you need to be. "Never give up," is as cliché as it gets, but it's true!
4. What other insights would you like to share?
I'm someone who loves learning new things and helping people. I know it It sounds too familiar, but it honestly makes my day when I can be a positive part of someone else's. I'm also big on trying new things in my own life, whether that's picking up hobbies, heading to the movies (which I do a lot) or blasting music like it's my personal soundtrack. Lately, I've been experimenting in the kitchen and pushing myself at the gym, which has been both a challenge and a lot of fun.
